Agreed again. Popper’s ‘paradox of tolerance’ is being posed in a particularly acute form in Europe now, with continuous pressures to limit and in some cases to criminalize debate about, for example, the current level of immigration and what it might imply for the future of those societies. The UN Global Compact on Migration is particularly sinister in this respect as it requires signatory governments to take active measures to shape debate on these matters and to penalize non-compliance with what it deems the ‘correct’ view (it is worth having a read - some of the language is quite Orwellian).
