Not original but Research Fellow at the Institute of Public Affairs, Morgan Begg, in The Spectator of 24 November, 2018 gives two other views on 'Identity Politics'. He rightly, I think, claims that Identity Politics cannot co-exist with a system of appointment on merit. Further, he asserts that Identity Politics (also) cannot co-exist with a system based on competency. Begg was - in his column - addressing the issue of 'historical revisionism' and moreover how social warriors are destructive forces in creative industries where storylines are heavily 'agenda-driven' and existing intellectual properties are persistently devalued and transformed to fit the political proclivities of the mainly female and feminist writers and artists who, as often as not, identify white men are 'guilty' of crime, no less, justifying their being replaced to increase diversity in representation. A tragic state of affairs, methinks.
