Is there any point in ranking threats? Both arguments appear to make valid points. Both identify that radical beliefs systems pose a threat to liberal democracies. It matters not which one is a bigger threat. We ought not ignore one while being vigilant about the other. The fundamentalist mindset in both religions share common attributes of absolute conviction, of being God's chosen, of having the right or obligation to do anything that is in God's will. While the scriptures may sometimes directly support their mission and sometimes not, their convictions will rule their behaviours regardless. The danger is the fundamentalist mindset per se.
