Congratulations, Peter. Well said. The next obvious step was prophesied by C. S. Lewis in the 1940s, around the time of Orwell. The next step is to declare the holders of 'incorrect' thoughts to have a mental disease and thus send them to hospital for re-education treatment. Lewis imagined that it would be a democratic process whereby the 51% 'winner' would declare the 49% 'losers' to be mentally unsound. That is, the ruling party of government would decide. However, the decision may well be taken by an intellectual elite in the public service. Be afraid, very afraid.
